New York Fashion Week, held in February and September of each year, is a biannual series of events when international fashion collections are shown to buyers, the press and the general public. BCBGMAXAZRIA brought us the unexpected new looks. They intertwined the masculine with the feminine. Using unique layering of the tuxedo look with the kitchen apron, they really brought forth some unique looks.

On top of the feminine floral Spring 2014 is also proving to be MINTY. Mint green is showing up everywhere in key pieces as well as accessories.

Zara (Spain), H&M and Urban Outfitters are the pulse of the college age and young millennials. Visiting these stores is a great way to stay abreast of low cost updated accessories etc. You don’t have to purchase your basic pieces from these stores but they are full of fashionforward looks. Take a look at the mad about plaid from Zara.

Starting February 9th Target brings the limited edition Peter Pilotto to the stores. If you remember the Missoni Collection for Target sold out in just a few weeks and was a big hit. I was able to acquire Missoni at everyday low prices something I never could have hoped for before Target began this venture. The Lookbook On February 9, you will be able to score London designer, Peter Pilotto's signature prints on nearly 70 pieces of women's apparel, accessories and swimwear most under $60 at Target stores across the US and Canada. "By working with Target, we're able to broaden our reach and bring our design aesthetic to an entirely new audience," says Peter Pilotto. The London-based designer duo are in good company joining Target's roster of sell out collections including Missoni, Prabal Gurung, Mulberry and Proenza Schouler.

Saks Fifth Avenue is carrying many new designers with a fresh perspective. One is Antonio Marras with his floral spring strapless and the very feminine structured dress. There is also a jacket that can top these collections. We are seeing icy cool pastels come off of the runways for spring 2014 along with floral and pretty in pink creations. $1,450 at Saks Fifth Ave.
